Tree Service in Riverview, FL

Holleywood Tree Services covers all of Riverview, from Panther Trace and Summerfield to Rivercrest, Boyette Farms, South Fork, and Lucaya Lake Club. Newer construction with young oaks and older properties with mature pines — we handle every scale of tree work with ISA-informed pruning, crane-assisted removal, and 24/7 storm response.

Riverview's newer neighborhoods feature young live oaks that need proper structural pruning early to develop strong scaffold branches — and older streets have mature slash pines that require careful assessment before hurricane season.

Recent Work

On the Job in Riverview

A recent Riverview call took our crew into South Fork (33569), where a storm-split leader was hanging over the driveway. We set rigging lines from the trunk, lowered every section by hand instead of dropping it, ground the stump below grade and raked the beds clean before we pulled out.

  • Crews run Riverview and Hillsborough County daily out of our Lutz shop — most estimates are on the calendar within 48 hours.
  • Regular stops in South Fork and Winthrop Village, with certificates of insurance sent straight to HOA and property managers on request.
  • Covering ZIP codes 33569, 33578, 33579.

What Makes Riverview Trees Different

Riverview has grown faster than almost anywhere in Hillsborough County, and its canopy tells that story. Newer communities off Big Bend, Boyette and Rhodine hold young planted oaks, maples and palms that need shaping now to avoid structural problems in ten years, while the older properties along the Alafia River and the U.S. 301 corridor carry mature live oak, laurel oak and pine that have already outgrown the homes built beneath them. We work both ends of that spectrum in Riverview weekly.

Trees We Work On Most in Riverview

Live oak
Riverview's long-term shade tree. Young ones planted in newer subdivisions need early structural pruning to establish a single dominant leader; mature ones along the river need end-weight reduction and, where two leaders have grown together with included bark, cabling.
Laurel oak
Heavily planted through Riverview's earlier developments and now aging out. Internal decay, root flare cavities and sudden limb drop — assessed at the base, not the canopy.
Slash and loblolly pine
Remnant stands throughout the Boyette and Balm-Riverview corridors. Pines break instead of bending, and lightning kills them standing every summer. Anything dead and within reach of a structure comes out.
Red maple and sweetgum
Common in Riverview's wetter, low-lying areas near the Alafia and its drainage. Both are weak-wooded and shed limbs readily; regular deadwooding keeps them safe rather than replacing them.
Sabal, queen and Washingtonia palm
Everywhere in Riverview's newer communities. Annual trimming, seed pod removal and sabal trunk shaving — no hurricane cuts, which shorten palm life.

The Alafia River corridor: wet soil, leaning trunks and bank erosion

Properties near the Alafia and its tributaries sit on saturated, low-lying ground for much of the wet season. Roots in permanently wet soil stay shallow and the anchoring is poor, so trees along the river lean progressively and eventually go over intact. The tells we look for on a Riverview river-side lot are a widening lean, cracked or heaving soil on the uphill side, and exposed roots where the bank has eroded out from under the plate. Once the plate is moving, cabling will not save the tree — it comes out before it takes the fence, the shed or the neighbor's roof with it.

New construction, compacted soil and young trees planted wrong

A lot of Riverview's newest neighborhoods were graded, compacted and then landscaped in a hurry. We routinely find young oaks and maples still girdled by nursery wire and burlap, planted too deep with no visible root flare, or left with two competing leaders that will split at fifteen years. Every one of those is cheap to correct now and expensive to correct later. When we are out for anything else on a Riverview property we will point out what is fixable while it still is.

Storm exposure and Riverview response

Riverview catches outer-band wind and heavy rainfall, and the combination — saturated ground plus sustained gusts — is what puts whole trees over here rather than just limbs. Our Riverview storm work runs on the same 24/7 rotation as the rest of the region: trees on structures and blocked driveways first, then hangers and standing hazards, then hauling. Everything is photographed before and after so your insurer sees the condition we found and the work we performed.

Permits, HOAs & Insurance in Riverview

Riverview is unincorporated Hillsborough County, so county tree protection standards apply — protected and grand trees generally require review before removal, while dead and hazardous trees are treated under a separate provision. Properties near the Alafia may also touch wetland or conservation easement boundaries, which is worth confirming before any work near the bank. We identify all of this during the free on-site estimate, photograph the defects that support a hazard determination, and send certificates of insurance straight to HOA boards and property managers in communities like Panther Trace, South Fork and Winthrop.

Frequently Asked

Riverview Tree Service — Questions & Answers

Do you service HOA communities in Riverview?+
Yes — Panther Trace, Summerfield, Rivercrest, Boyette Farms, South Fork, Lucaya Lake Club, and Winthrop Village. We follow ANSI A300 pruning standards and can provide a certificate of insurance for HOA/ARC approval before work begins.
Do you do structural pruning on young live oaks in Riverview?+
Yes. Young live oaks in new Riverview developments benefit most from early structural pruning — establishing a strong central leader and well-spaced scaffold branches. Done correctly in the first 10 years, this dramatically reduces storm failure later.
How much does tree removal cost in Riverview?+
Riverview tree removals typically run $400–$2,500+ depending on tree size, species, access, and rigging complexity. All estimates are free and fully itemized.
Do you respond to storm emergencies in Riverview 24/7?+
Yes. Riverview sits along the same Gulf storm corridor as the rest of south Hillsborough — we dispatch crews around the clock during named storms and after severe weather.
My Riverview tree is leaning toward the house — how urgent is that?+
It depends whether the lean is old and stable or new and progressing. Fresh soil cracking or heaving at the base, a raised lip of turf on the uphill side, or exposed roots means the root plate is moving and the tree should come out. We assess it free and tell you honestly which one you have.
Can you work on a lot near the Alafia River when the ground is soft?+
Yes — but we plan for it. Track mats, lighter equipment, crane picks from firm ground, and where necessary we schedule the work for the dry season rather than rutting your property. We would rather move the date than wreck the yard.
The builder planted my Riverview trees. Is there anything I should fix now?+
Often, yes. We regularly find nursery wire and burlap still around the root ball, trees planted too deep with no visible root flare, and young oaks with two competing leaders that will split later. Early structural pruning and correcting planting depth is the cheapest tree work you will ever buy.
How quickly can you reach Riverview in a storm?+
We dispatch 24/7 and run Riverview as a core coverage area out of our Lutz shop. During active events we work a priority rotation — structures and blocked exits first — and haul same day so your adjuster gets clean documentation.
